Description
In the Summer of 1955 71000 Duke of Gloucester (The Duke) underwent indicator trials whilst hauling 21 coaches (565 tons and almost a quarter of a mile long) at 80 mph on the GWR Mainline. The artist Mike Hill has painted one scene from this moment in British railway history which is being or has been auctioned to raise funds for The Duke’s current overhaul.
You can have your own high-quality A3 giclée limited edition print of Mike’s masterpiece. There are only 54 prints available (54 as was built in 1954) on top quality 270 gsm, 100% cotton rag paper. Each print has been individually numbered and signed by Mike. They are for sale at £60 each on a ‘first come, first served’ basis.
Post & Packaging: The advertised price of the print includes P & P. All prints will be rolled with acid-free tissue paper for protection and packaged in stout, larger diameter cardboard tubes to reduce curl.
We are extremely grateful to Mike Hill for donating the original painting to raise funds for The Duke’s current overhaul.
