Description
It’s just after 4.00pm in the late summer of 1955 and Britain’s most advanced express passenger locomotive, 71000 Duke of Gloucester is hauling its regular charge, the up Mid-Day Scot through the Lune Gorge after picking up water on Dillicar troughs.
A speed restriction for a permanent way crew replacing bullhead rail has just been passed and the locomotive is now accelerating this prestigious express train on its way to the capital, due to arrive at Euston station at 10:09pm.
Post & Packaging: All prints will be rolled with acid-free tissue paper for protection and packaged in stout, larger diameter cardboard tubes to reduce curl.
We are extremely grateful to Nick Trudgian for donating the entire profit from the sale of these prints
