Peter Kenyon

We’re very sorry to learn that Peter Kenyon died in a care home on the evening of Sunday 17th March. Sadly he had pneumonia and his kidneys had also failed; he was on end of life care.  Peter’s  wife died in 2021 and I remember him telling me how much he missed her and how he’d subsequently lost interest in everything.  Peter was a key contributor to the original restoration work of the Duke at Loughborough from 1974.  He was also a member of our Trust from January 2015 until the death of his wife.
Peter’s funeral is on 9th April at 2pm at Markeaton crematorium.  Rest in peace, Peter.  We will miss you.
The attached article, published in Issue 146 of Heritage Railway in 2011 provides a brilliant insight into Peter’s involvement in the Duke.
