BRC8SLT Donation

Steam locomotives are expensive to run and maintain.

The BR Class 8 Steam Locomotive Trust (BRC8SLT) is custodian of 71000 Duke of Gloucester and it’s members funded The Duke’s recent heavy overhaul.

The agreement the Trust has with Locomotive Services Limited (LSL) is for the whole of The Duke’s ‘ticket’ period of 10 years. At the end of which the Trust will have to fund his next overhaul. It is the Trust’s aim to have sufficient funds in 2035 to overhaul The Duke in as quick a turn-round as possible so that future generations can appreciate him as the ultimate in British steam locomotive development.

The Trust members are helping to build an overhaul fund ready for when it is needed. Any donations we receive will add to that fund and be much appreciated.
