Support Coach Appeal

The Support Coach is an integral part of The Duke’s mainline operations and must therefore be ready at the same time The Duke commences mainline running.  The overhaul of the coach is will be expedited by out-sourcing so that it is indeed ready and available as soon as The Duke returns to steam.

 

Our preferred method of sponsorship is off-line as we don’t have to pay transaction fees. Click here to download the Support Coach Sponsorship Form to sponsor off-line. Using the Form your sponsorship can be by regular monthly payment of 10 times £50 if this is more convenient.

 

Names of sponsors will be recorded in a Roll of Honour visible on this website.

Description

The Trust’s Support Coach (a BR Mk2a Corridor Brake First [BFK] number W17041) is in need of a major refurbishment that will see it suitable for mainline operation during The Duke’s next certificate period. The Duke will be available for hire in Quarter 1 of 2022.

The Support Coach is 64 feet long. It is estimated that approximately £40k is needed to bring the Support Coach up to mainline running standard. The Trust are looking for supporters to sponsor one or more linear feet for £500 each and assist them to have both locomotive and Support Coach available by late 2021.
