Six brand new tyres have now been fitted to the Duke’s driving wheels, marking another significant milestone in the loco’s overhaul. The next stage will see the wheels and axles returned to Tyseley where the tyres will be profiled. The final step will then be for our own Working Parties to clean and paint the wheels before they are reunited with the locomotive frames.
